I liked the decor of this place. So cute. It's right next to a park and has indoor and outdoor seating. The food was great! I got a breakfast wrap even though it wasn't breakfast time (I'm a rebel)..I loved everything in it! The register smelled good..like some sort of baked coffee good..yummmm.. Made me wanna get dessert too! But no, no. I can't do that to myself! I didn't like how my wrap had grill marks like it was pressed in the panini maker. I was expecting a regular wrap and that's what I thought I ordered! If I wanted a panini, I would have ordered a panini!! It was a lot of food..they cover it with arugula. Love arugula so it was a nice touch. I got up to halfway and I felt full!! I forced myself to eat the other half though..it was delicious and also I hate wasting food. Next time I would take it to go!

Exactly what you expect it to be. Great little cafe in seemingly-suburbia but really nice in the mornings on a business day. I worked from the shop until about 1 (when things got loud and there were kids running around) but it's an excellent open-air eating and working area. Super friendly staff, lots of laptop campers but a good place to get some work done and get a good coffee and a quick bite. All of the food looked amazing.

Cafe Verde is such a perfect spot: whether you've just dropped your kids off from school and need a jolt of caffeine to start your day, are looking for a place to work (they have wifi) that makes better coffee and food than you can get from your home office, or you want to meet friends for a light dinner and drinks while your kiddos run around and play on the patio...it's our family's version of "Cheers" where everyone knows your name and you're likely to run into a friend or ten!

I tried Café Verde for the first time tonight and I am absolutely a fan! We ordered about 6:15pm and there was no line. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful, and the prices were good for Marin County-- $9ish dollars depending on the meal, which is to be expected here. My veggie pesto wrap was so delicious, filling, and fresh. Everyone else loved their meals as well. The wait for our food was definitely less than 10 minutes and I will 100% be back soon!

I LOVE that you can sit outside here and have a drink and a little bite to eat on a beautiful. I'm not over in this area often but when I come here to walk my dog, I love that I can sit outside with him. Fun spot, to make a quick stop, while on a walk. Coffee, sodas, paninis, salads... Check it out! Ok that pretty much sums it up.

I keep driving past this cafe on my way to and from the gym. It's situated right next to the Corte Madera Park, and I always see folks sitting outside nursing their lattes. After my workout this morning, I decided to forgo my usual Peet's pit-stop and get an espresso at Cafe Verde. So glad I did! It's a really charming coffee shop. Friendly colors and artwork on the walls. Tantalizing baked goods and pastries at the counter. Happy employees working the cashier. I ordered up a double espresso and a chocolate chip cookie. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they serve Illy Coffee from Italy (one of the best brews for the buck, in my opinion). I noticed a number of tempting salad and sandwich options on the menu (everything from a Kale Caesar to hearty paninis and wraps). It all looked tasty and healthy. I certainly need to come back soon for lunch and sit outside with all the soccer moms and dads. A friend also told me that they serve beer and wine, so it might be a cool place to go for happy hour on a nice, sunny evening. A glass of vino, some light bites, and a gorgeous view of Mt. Tam - what's not to like? Cafe Verde - I think we're going to become good friends.

Garsh, this was disappointing. Disappointing for a few reasons: 1) I live in this small town of Corte Madera, with very few food options; 2) The location of this spot is so perfectly central, I want to be a regular here; and 3) They have outdoor seating with the greatest surrounding views of Marin. I want to cry. The food was just plain disappointing. It tasted like something that had been pre-made in a factory and trucked in. No pride or love behind it. I always clean my plate, thanks to years of brainwashing done by my father, about little starving African children. I could not clean my plate - Dad, I really tried! So, so, sad. :(

We've been coming here since this opened. Decent food, prices high, but ok...until today. Stopped in after my daughters piano class as we have for years and ordered her pizza and my salad and was surprised to get a total of $28 without drinks??!!?? They raised the prices of pizza by $4-5 and salad??? Stupid, just lost a loyal customer. I'll spend $30 on pizza and a salad in SF, but in the middle of a busy street in Corte Madera? #notdesparate #mediocrepizza

Looks like they got rid of wifi. Too bad-- working here was one of the main reasons we 'd come. I don't think we'll be back much.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the Bay area to read and relax in all day. Since leaving Calgary I have yet to find a place as great for hanging out at all day as Cafe Rosso - please message me if you have suggestions. I love a cafe where you can stay for 5-6 hours, read, sip drinks, have lunch, play cards, meet friends, and not be rushed. For the most part good coffee places in the Bay Area are rush rush rush. Not here. Here you could stay all day. It was never too busy. They get my coveted and rarely given 5 star rating for the following: - Stay-all-day kind of place - Illy Coffee Served - as much as I love Blue Bottle and local roasts, nothing beats Illy coffee from Italy. They have it here and I love it so so so much. - Great food - the sandwiches are really good for the area. No not the best in the bay, but for a coffee shop excellent. - Excellent staff - I have had long talks with the manager and he is such a cool guy. He is down to earth; talking frank on what they are and where they want to be, and took the time to recommend great places to eat in the east bay. - Excellent Belgian Beers - nothing better after a day at Stinson Beach. Cold beer at a good price and a patio!

I really like cafe Verde. It's at a great location between the Town of Larspur and Corte Madera. The location is perfectly located next to a park on a long street with no other coffee shops. I had my doubts at first but now I'm a believer and fan. Verde stays open till 9 p.m. which is later than neighboring coffee shops plus they serve wine, beer and have a great salad menu.

They have great pizza. Our fav is arugula prosciutto and their coffee is good. Also love their casual environment too.

Feels like a little slice of Italy in our back yard! Wonderful selection (i love the egg salad in ciabatta) including very traditional desserts from Europe like apricot pasta flora .... Yum!

I don't see how this place doesn't have a perfect 5 stars. I eat here at least 3x a week, sometimes as much as twice a day. I love that they serve organic chicken. Their food is clean, and the service is excellent. If you want a really good dish, order the Jeff Special, it's a delicious chicken, veggie, and brown rice dish that's perfect to eat after a workout, and it's not on the menu.

Cafe Verde has been open almost 2 years now & I felt it was time to give a little update! Two words: ILLY COFFEE! Just when I thought this little neighborhood gem couldn't get any better... they did! They started serving Italian Illy Coffee - which in MY opinion, is the best coffee out there for espresso! Nothing like a Brioche & Cappuccino to kick off your day right. And let me tell you.... their staff knows how to make a good cappuccino! It reminds me of the perfect cappuccinos I used to get at Steps of Rome in North Beach back in the '90s. Perfection! Their food has continued to improve, too (and I liked it when they first opened)! I'm LOVING the dessert selection. Genuine quality handmade European Style goodies! That paired with a single Espresso - pulled to perfection - you can't beat it! Another huge improvement - the chairs! Seriously! They replaced the somewhat uncomfortable original chairs with SUPER comfy, classy, big chairs so you can relax & enjoy your experience! Well done, Cafe Verde... you continue to improve upon awesome!

Cafe Verde is in my neighborhood so I am a frequent flyer here. Service always comes with a smile and that is definitely appreciated. Great, sunny patio although you occasionally suck some exhaust fumes coming off the adjacent Tamalpais Drive. Solid Euro beer menu for a place with only 6-taps (Abt-12, Erdinger, Affligem; all served in the correct glassware). Unfortunately, none of the good beers are on the happy hour menu (4-7pm), but there are some tasty 1/2 priced apps like guacamole with naan. The food menu is limited to lunch type fare and is made to order. We do enjoy the various mini macaroons in the dessert display. Two 1/2 liter Weihenstephan and a happy hour appetizer came to $27 after tax.

Haven't tried the food, but I stopped by for a coffee and pastry and was very impressed by the look of the place. Very upscale and cozy. Easy parking and outdoor seating. Very European feel. The coffee is pretty good. I was disappointed they don't have WiFi, this is an automatic deal-breaker from making me a regular here. The chocolate chip cookie I had was tasteless.

It was my first visit to this location. It's been on my list of places I'd like to try for a while so I was looking forward to it. The location was clean with nice decor and parking was easy. I wasn't impressed with the food selection though. The salad I orders was listed as having shredded Parmesan cheese over it. What I got was salad with Kraft Parmesan Cheese poured over it. I didn't want to pay $14+ for Kraft cheese. I went to the location thinking of Cafe Verde as a cafe, a type of restaurant. Had I gone with the expectation of this place as a coffee shop with some food options and soccer on the TV, I would have had much a better experience. Plus I would have had a full meal before I went as my Kraft salad was an expensive side salad and not a meal. I may return for coffee and soccer, but that would be it.

3 1/2 stars. I am glad this place exists since there isn't much else for a coffee/cafe place anywhere near here. The ambiance is pretty good and the coffee is solid. And at least they used to have wifi (I think they still do.). There are a few good food options, but also a few very bad ones. Order the chicken pesto panini--it's real chicken and a lot of tasty pesto. Avoid the salami or roast beef sandwiches (both were almost inedible--the bread was super hard on the salami sandwich which was a mistake in our order--we had ordered salmon; the roast beef was just deli meat and not real meat. Yuck.) For a $9-10 sandwich, I expect much better quality. The pastry selection is fine but many are very, very overpriced. Order carefully lest you get stuck with a $5 piece of dry cake.

So impressed! How does someone go gaga over a salad? Hands down: Best Mediterranean Salad I've had - plus: wonderful ambiance - including art on the walls -the whole open plaza, umbrellas, spacious feel. Note: Very small coffee cups...My new favorite place in CM. Skip the Oatmeal Cookies..

We need more places like this with a beautiful big patio for sitting outside and enjoying a coffee. This food and drink are fine. The place itself is really quite nice.

Their beet salad had very little beets in it- it was more of a salad with some beets. Coffee is okay. There are way too many flies here.

Love the beers, great place to take the kids while the wife shops away our retirement. Basically great for Dads, have the wife drop you off while she shops, good snacks for the kids as well, and you can grab a Racer 5 while your kid rides his/ her bike.

I like Cafe Verde for it's al fresco dining, the food is casual but delicious, bar is fun to watch a game and sometimes (Thursdays I think) they have live music. High School kids playing the guitar, and they're fantastic. It's a great neighborhood spot, and did I mention, I can walk there!

Very special spot. Never too crowded (but always a fun handful of ppl for the FIFA games ;) illy coffee, spacious with lots of windows and sunshine, friendly service----Saeed, the owner, is such a blessing and warm hearted person. Really enjoy every moment I spend here..

They're getting better! I came here by myself the other day to have a quick sandwich before heading to class, so I opted for a coke and the smoked salmon panini. The salmon tasted fresh and had a flavor that was not overwhelming or bland, there were some capers to add saltiness, plus dill and cream to round everything out. The only thing I felt could have been different would be if the dill were chopped and sprinkled on the cream instead, as the sprigs could be a bit overwhelming in some bites. It was nice to sit in the sun and watch muted CNN while grabbing my sustenance before walking back up the hill. Keep up the good work!

I stopped in here just for a hot drink. I have special dietary restrictions so I was very specific with my order. The lady working behind the counter seemed generally annoyed with me and got more so after I ordered. She kept sighing as I was ordering. When I asked for a splash of milk, I mentioned that I can only have a smidge due to lactose intolerance, she said " well maybe you shouldn't order it with milk then". Umm... Not your job to tell me what to eat or drink! I was planning on stopping in for lunch later that day but after that comment, I don't think I will go back....ever! As a business, their guests should be greeted politely, with a smile, and feel welcome. This is not the way it happened for me. I will not be giving them any more business.

  • Grace C.

Slow service. I've only bought bottled drinks and danishes there, but every time it seems to take longer than it should, even it there isn't any one in line before me. I am not sure how that is possible -- it must be a type of time warp. Also, they need to do something with the acoustics -- it is uncomfortably loud inside the cafe.

Cafe Verde is Little overprice !!for the people who on a budget The service is total slow how on earth bottle of coke that cost $2.79 that's incl tax that is overprice in my book it on 20 oz btl that not to run a business get real everything in there they charge tax I think the better business should look in that matter

Charming, upbeat, trendy, Euro style sidewalk cafe that accommodates your breakfast, lunch and dinner appetites. Not to mention, it's warm ambience in the cozy bar with eclectic artwork for sale, along with the finest pastries, salads and sandwiches to soothe many an epicurean appetite in Marin County. The owners, Tony and Mario, have combined their years of experience in the restaurant industry, first opening their authentic Italian ristorante', Benissimo, in the mid-80's and more recently, introducing the now popular and perfectly positioned, Cafe Verde, an integral part of the Corte Madera community. The atmosphere is friendly, open air and welcoming. I encourage anyone looking for something new, fresh and European in style, to come on by and sit outside with a latte or glass of wine and soak in the surrounding views of mountains and local neighborhood flavor. Kudos to Tony and Mario! Another Corte Madera hit! Cheers!

  • Anna A.

I don't know what's better--the food, the coffee, or how sweet the people are! When you go to Peet's in the morning, does the person behind the counter seem genuinely happy to see you and talk to you? Does your latte come with a heart or a flower drawn on the top? Is it made with Illy?? Here, that all happens! There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of power outlets. The food is healthy, full of fresh ingredients, very good, and it comes out super fast. Sometimes the owner plays guitar. Its situated next to a park. Its just a great, relaxing place to come and feel happy, eat well and drink well. There are lots of welcoming smiles.

  • Princess J.

If the menu says that a cup of tea is $2.75, then it should be $2.75, not $3.00. Oh wait, it costs more because you want to drink it here and not take it to go! Well, smack me on the side of my head... Duh. Why couldn't I figure this out for myself? And I wonder what food costs if I want to eat it there? A novel idea would be for them to post the real price of things!

Just opened and much anticipated. They took dead space and went above and beyond in the beautification. Setting is stellar; you have Town Park right next to the café and Mt. Tam looking down on it. Kudos to all involved. Outdoor and indoor seating, area outside is fenced in and works for kids and dogs. The café is a short walk from most houses in the area, could be the local on that dog walk! Baked goods and sandwiches, created on site. Sandwiches hit the spot. The café also has a wine/beer license which I think will bring then a ton of business especially if they stay open during the early evening. Few teething problems due to just opening. No card-reader; order took +10 minutes to create.. those are almost to be expected. Food a sandwich a bit on the high cost side for a café, but no complaint on the quality. We wish them well, and this is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood!

A nice place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. Coffee is great, food is okay, but will do the trick. The wine list could use some improving especially for an Italian inspired cafe. But the beer selection is small but inspired.

I stopped by Cafe Verde and I felt like I have been transported to Italy! The owners nailed the atmosphere and energy of a street side cafe. They have a full coffee bar, tons of European beers on tap, a few pastries and yummy looking thin crust pizza. Unfortunately the service leaves something to be desired. My 83 year old father and I came for an afternoon beer, cappuccino and pastry and we had a really hard time being served. We first went to the bar to order, but the bartender would only handle the beer. We ordered the cappuccino and pastry, but she would not place the order with the barista. We had to go to the coffee bar to order them again. Worse, the man working the coffee bar made no attempt to accomodate my hard of hearing father. It as weird how insensitive the barista was. Especially since we could see the manager bussing the tables. Why was he working his butt off and his employes couldn't be bothered to be helpful. Maybe they need a better hiring process? My advice, keep the manager and hire a new staff. I love the ambiance. I will be back and hope the staff is a little more accommodating to senior citizens. I hate to say it, but Starbucks never would treat their customers this way!

My SO and I went by this place for the first time while riding bike to Mill Valley and decided to stop by on our way back. This place was great. We sat at the bar and grabbed lunch and a beer. We happened to be sitting next to the owner and had a chance to talk about the restaurant. We each had a sandwich with a side salad and a beer. The sandwiches were tasty as was the salad. The house salad dressing was, in fact, quite delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the freezer full of gelato bars. The owner gave us each one on his tab -- what a nice guy. We definitely will be back, especially to sit at the bar and have a few glasses of beer. Highly recommend.

Just loving this place! Came here yesterday and today with my family and I think we all want to move on in. Great atmosphere and ambience with the casual indoor outdoor setting. Great food and especially great staff! Had a kale Caesar salad with chicken which was the bomb, my 2 year old son loves the Chinese chicken salad. Both owners came to check on us numerous times which made us feel very special. We plan on coming back over and over again, especially if there is music on Sundays! Thanks for coming to our neighborhood. It's our little slice of heaven in Corte Madera Also, it is a great spot for kids with a great climbing tree and a fun little courtyard to run around in.

Solid fare and decent coffee, apparently a good wine selection. Full of flies today though yuck. They have free wireless and its pretty good to work. Cute patio for lattes, lots of lunching ladies and guys actually.

After three visits, I'm coming to realize this is a sweet little place. There's a bit of a caveat with this review...I've only tried coffee and desserts, so I might adjust this rating later. So far, however, I've been happy with the service as well as the other refreshments. The counter help is gracious...I purchased a brownie, and she offered to heat it up (I never thought of that myself, given the usual minimalist nature of ordering cafe food). I accepted...sat down, with my tea...and she brought out the brownie adorned with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Totally unexpected, but it is those little touches that can elevate a place. This should become a destination when the weather warms a bit, and the abundant outdoor seating gets more use...particularly from bicyclists heading towards Larkspur and beyond. Would benefit from Internet access.

I stumbled upon this place after doing some shopping and did not want to eat at one of the chains in the malls. I had the chicken pesto panini and it was just what I was craving. Chicken was a bit dry, the bread was good, and overall a tasty lunch. Prices a bit high but I guess it's the area. They had a good selection of paninis, pizzas, breakfast, and pastries in this cute cafe. I would definitely come back again!

Finally!! It's about. Freaking. Time. FINALLY Marin County has a proper, SoCal-style cafe: situated on a main boulevard, at an intersection, with tons of outdoor seating, tons of sunlight, and super chill and friendly SoCal-style service, it's by far and away the best cafe in in Marin now (others are either in boring shopping malls, don't have much outdoor seating, don't get much sunlight, etc). So: great people / car watching (yup, just saw a sick AMG Benz drive by), tons of sunlight, outdoor seating, free wi-fi, awesome friendly service, and oh, btw, the food is good too!! :) But let's break it down a bit, shall we? PROS: tons of awesome, sunny, outdoor seating at a (relatively) busy intersection offers great people / car watching, free wifi, great / fun / friendly service, fantastic decent-sized mostly international beer tap selection, ever-growing wine selection, really yummy paninis, open till ... wait for it ... 9PM! (By Marin and even SF standards for a cafe, this is a pretty huge deal) CONS: honestly? just one issue, really: the breakfast sandwiches are pretty plus-minus. They use those slabs of pre-made eggs, you know, those egg "block" things. CONCLUSION: this is by far and away my favorite spot in Marin now. To be honest, if they added some couch seating and some gelato, it would be remarkably similar to Cafe Primo in West Hollywood on Sunset Blvd (Yelp it if you don't know it; my favorite cafe in LA.) LOVE this place.

Nice place with good beer and wine selection . What food they have is good , but need a bigger menu . Perhaps some pasta ? I'll bump it to 5 stars. It is what it is. A small cafe, with a small menu, great happy hour, great atmosphere , and if you are lucky, Tony will play the guitar for you, and he is good!

Great addition to a corner that was literally a shack! It is owned and operated by the guys that own Benissimo's up the street. The location and atmosphere on a nice day or warm evening cannot be beat with the city park next door. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Cafe Verde has a beer and wine license with great selection of beers and a decent inexpensive wine list. They are still experimenting with the menu and food but I have had several of the panini sandwiches and they have all been excellent. The pizza is very good and is one of the newer additions to the place. The salads I have had have been excellent as well, my favorite is there mediteranean salad. The have "happy hour" food specials but I haven't been there to try those yet. Opens up around 7am and closes at 10pm. Lively crowd on nice evening at the open air bar area with large screen TV for ball games etc... Definitely recommend and will return.

This place held such promise. Alas, my experience there was terrible in every way. First I had hoped that with a name like "Green" it would have a menu that was at least reasonably earth friendly. Not so. Virtually nothing vegetarian, let alone vegan, and no sign of a local focus. So my friend and I just ordered a soy latte and a soy chai to go. The staff seemed clueless and did not seem to even know what vegan meant and took a long time ringing up a simple order, even though the line was getting long. Then we waited and waited and waited. I finally went to the counter and asked what was going on and the woman behind the counter seemed confused. Then she said they were out of chai mix! When did they plan on letting us know?? So, we cancelled that and she refunded the chai (with difficulty). In a hurry now, I took my soy latte and we left. as we turned onto Tamalpais, I took a sip and realized it was made with cows milk! Fail, fail and fail. I called later that day and asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn't there. I was polite and just said I wanted to ask him about possibly adding some vegan menu options. He wasn't there and I left a message and he never called back. So hopeful, soooooo disappointing!

Nice location, but kind of a funny place: they have no stove, so everything is cooked in the "oven". Not sure if she meant microwave, salamander, or standard oven. I ordered scrambled eggs, so how were they cooked in an oven if they were not reheated frozen? I am not sure. In any case, I have to give this place props for actually serving some protein before 11:00 in this city. There is no other place I have found that offers anything paleo peeps can eat (Peet's, Starbucks, Book Passage, etc., are all carb-heavy.) I will keep coming here out of necessity, and if we customers can keep it in bushiness, maybe they can afford a grill! Nice view, nice outdoor seating. Friendly counter service, no table service.

This was my first time at cafe verde. We came for dinner. The cafe had a self service feel to it. The staff was nice. The menu had a moderate amount if options. Prices were about $8-$10 for a panini and more for pasta. I got the turkey panini. It was a fairly decent size but there was WAY too much mayo on it where it was a bit disgusting. If I was to go back again, I would definitely tell them to go VERY light on it. This place is not a top choice to frequent but decent.

Costco Salad out of the Bag Ordered the baby kale Caesar salad and it tasted like they pulled out a bag of Costco baby kale, that wasn't even very fresh, added a bit of dressing, four croutons and a scoop of parmesan cheese. For that I paid $9. Not good quality, not good value. Best thing about it, easy parking.

Clean place with more outdoor seating then indoor. Great little spot to bring your dog , sit and chat while watching people walk by. They have a self serve bottle drink area and art on the walls you can buy. Their foid prices are priced a little higher then what they should be for what they are offering. I just had drinks really quick but will come back to eat.

I checked it out again today for lunch and some of the new menu items (yummy pizza, etc.) only add to the experience! A delicious Moretti, scrumptious panini and on their sun drenched patio with my dog at my feet. It does not get any better! Hurry up and get there before it gets too popular and the lines slow you down!

Our favorite brunch/lunch spot! Sunny open and great easy atmosphere! The coffee is absolutely perfect! It's great to go and watch a game on their big screen and not feel closed in like at a bar! It's the perfect European all day meeting and eating spot!

Its a very cute concept with average food. great location and perfect coffee, with a seaminly great vibe... but.. the breakfast sandwich was wayyyyy overpriced. $7.50 for burnt egg and burnt cheese. Also I didnt feel comfortable voicing my concern. I will give them one more try... but aside from the coffee.. meh.. average so far.

The wait staff seem to have an attitude. A half hour later& no food. When asking when it will be ready they acted as if I had a problem. Seriously, a sandwich takes a half hour? Not customer friendly by any stretch of the imagination. The food is good. But be forewarned about the attitude.

Wow. 30 minutes for Belgian waffles?! Manager not willing to at least compensate us for the ridiculousness of this?! There were 3 other customers here aside from our family of five. And they claim our order of three Belgian waffles for our three kids was "lost in the shuffle". Hmmm... Really?! Can't imagine what happens if they actually have ten customers! And a manager too cheap to compensate for three hungry kids?! Never going again.

I don't even want to go into how bad my service was here but I know I'll never go back. The whole time I was there I watch countless people unhappy with service and sub-par food an drinks. Needless to say it's not that hard to make grilled cheese, so why it took 20 minuets I have know idea (initially I was the only person there) but it might be because their cashiers constantly forget to put in orders and cant put them in correctly. I watched several people's orders get screwed up in a 20 minute period of time. Hire people who can take an order.

I love this local spot! I was sad that Rustic Bakery closed during their renovation, but have happily replaced it with Cafe Verde in my daily coffee stop! I'm always warmly greeted by the staff and continue to be pleased with the food and beverages I try. I've stopped here for quick breakfast before work (love the breakfast sandwich!), lunch (the arugula salad with burrata and strawberries) and for an after work drink (love the beer selection!). The owners always say hello and in general the place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I recommend checking this place out!

Not bad. I kind of love this place. Especially the location. Ok to be totally honest I'd probably be loving any business situated on this particular corner that could serve me a hot mocha to keep me warm during those cold evening softball games at the corte madera park. I have to go give my support to my fiancee's team. I know why the other wives don't go, because it's freakin cold in that damn park all the time! On a warm sunny day earlier this week I brought a parka, and gloves but still froze my butt off. Cafe verde is like a savior. I stop by there for a coffee and sometimes more before the games. The mocha is delicious. I've gotten that twice. Both times it was sweet and chocolaty. All good. Once, I made the mistake of cheaping out and ordering the regular house coffee.... in all fairness maybe I ruined it. I added some of that cocoa powder, half and half and cinnamon to it. It was horrible. More bitter than a scorned ex girlfriend throwing orange paint on your brand new car. I don't care enough to find it if that was my fault or if it was bunk coffee. I saw the pepperoni pizza, looked thin crust and a little greasy. Okay for kids I guess. I ordered the BLT panini on a ciabatta. The guy at the counter that time looked relatively new or just confused. He couldn't tell me what kind of bread they had. But after getting some help, the older guy came up and told me to get the ciabatta. I have a thing for BLT with goat cheese. It's a rare find but delicious combo, in spite of what you might think. I haven't experienced any of the horrendous service some of these other people have, but then again I haven't ordered the belgian waffles and for that reason I probably never will. Haven't tried the pastries or gelato but they look pretty tempting. Maybe one day I'll break and order one. You'll be the first to know. Well, second after me. Third if you count the guy taking the order. I'm deducting 1 star for the pricy-ness.

Went to use a gift card for some Blue Bottle coffee, but was sorely disappointed. Not sure why they have pictures of Blue Bottle coffee when I didn't see anything but Illy. Had the breakfast sandwich and it was meh. Nice decor and seating, but not sure I will go back unless I just need a comfortable place to sit and drink a so-so cup of coffee.

This place needs the support of all the locals as it is a gem in Corte Madera, and are real asset to the community, so show your support. I was critical on the pricing and service earlier, but last visit was perfect. They had tuned up their portions and quality of food, and leveled off staff requirements to provide a prompt, professional level of service, and really good food experience. Breakfast - highly recommend the chunky egg - my new breakfast standard!!

My husband and I decided to try this new place as we've both driven by it. We took our kids for bfast and ordered two egg sandwiches for us and three Belgian waffles for the girls. We were enjoying our coffee outside and our sandwiches came pretty quickly but after a few minutes the guy came and asked if we were still waiting for the waffles. Huh? There were three other tables in the entire place and they can't keep track? No, so we wait another 10-15 minutes and still no waffles. By this time we had finished our sandwiches and gone to ask twice about the waffles. Finally we were told the kitchen thought our waffles had gone out already. Again, huh? (See note about three other tables) Finally, they started bringing the waffles but it was one at a time. I asked the waiter if they could comp the waffles since it had been such a long wait and they admitted they messed up. He checked with the manager and came back and said they couldn't (wouldn't) comp them but would give us free pastries on our way out. At this point that was the last thing we wanted. Maybe if they had been proactive WHILE we were waiting for the food and brought something for our kids while they were waiting, we would have appreciated the effort. But they really acted like they could care less. Can't imagine how long it would take to get our food if there had been more people there. But with this kind of service, that probably won't happen!

Great locatin, wine bar, and good sandwiches. Plus they have blue bottle drip coffee

Love this place and I think the staff is great. The Blue Bottle coffee is one thing but the local beers on tap are even better (Racer 5, Moretti, Arogant Bastart, etc) For food I recommend any of the Panini Sandwiches or the salads

Great outdoor cafe for coffee, a latte and the like! The owner has a gift with the guitar that is simply relaxing and therapeutic. I am thinking a Sunday afternoon, a latte and that guitar. Ahhhhhhh! I can now begin my hectic week! I have found the food and wine to be good as well. I recommend a stop when you are next in Corte Madera!

Great place...good coffee, fantastic pastries, free wifi, friendly service. Really thankful to find an alternative to the stuffy, faux-European Rulli's in nearby Larkspur. Verde is pretty laid-back, so not surprised those with 'specific' or fussy orders and type AAAA personalities give it one star, happy they're not coming back!

We love this place. It is especially nice on a sunny day when we can sit outside and enjoy lunch and coffee while the kids play. It is safe for the kids, the park is nearby, the food is good, and the service is good too. My husband has gone there for a beer in the afternoon and said it was nice.

Recently opened Cafe Verde is a unique public/private collaboration with the Town of Corte Madera's Community Foundation (thank you Pat Ravasio and many others) developing the adjacent Town Plaza and brothers Mario and Sayeed of Benissimo fame opening the Cafe. Pastries and pannini sandwiches, coffee, beer and wine. The foundations of life. I am looking forward to outside heating. Bravo and much success.

This place has amazing potential. However, the service is less than stellar. They should hire someone from Cafe Ruli or Cibo who knows what they are doing with the Marin breakfast and lunch crowd. The food is food, they serve Blue Bottle but the staff is clueless in terms of the menu, their duties and how to efficiently run a cafe. If they fix the service I'll be back. Also, it would be nice if a breakfast cafe was open at 7:00 in the morning.

This place sucks! I have tried it more than several times and my order is always wrong. Person taking order seems incapable of listening or handing order off. Have heard this same complaint from others about their food not being as ordered.

i live close by. nice little place. but no bang for the buck. if they want more locals to start frequenting the place, get real with the portions and the pricing. it could be a great local hangout.

Disappointed. Great location. Lots of great sun and great patio. Service was just miserable. This being my first time, I asked the guy at the counter some questions, and he acted thoroughly put out and annoyed. I ended up ordering the combo soup/sandwich, and drink. I found a table inside but bordering on the patio with lots of sun. Soup (minestrone) was not bad....lots of veggies, but not a lot of flavor. I would eat it again. Sandwich (Verde BLT) could have been great, but I could tell they had cooked the bacon hours ago...and it had way too much pesto on the bread. I only ate half. When I got up to leave, I went to the counter to buy another drink for the road (Pellegrino) and got two Italian tea cookies (they were good). As I was paying, the earlier counter guy cleared my table, and in plain view of me, gave my pink fleece jacket to the guy on the other side of the counter. I said 'hey, that's my jacket' and he said "sorry, it was on the floor'. What was so dismaying is that I was wearing that pink fleece when I had ordered my lunch just 15 minutes before...he had taken my order...my table was in plain view of the cashier/counter, and he cleared my table! He had to have known that jacket was mine, and not to mention I was the only woman inside the restaurant. REALLY disappointed that he didn't just ask 'ma'am, is this your jacket?' before hastily giving it to another guy to stow behind the counter!!! Hopefully the food and service will improve, because the location and sunny patio are wonderful.

Disappointing is the one word that describes cafe verde. Gave cafe 3 chances but the menu is boring, food is tasteless and overpriced. Lucky for owners that town of corte madera gave them 2 yrs free rent and reduced rent after 2 yrs r up. Plaza is nice, it belongs to the town. Only good thing I can say is that it is nice to look at as I drive/walk by.

Very nice place to pass the time. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Wish there were more cafes like this in Marin.

Some of the best pizza in Marin, and an open, airy environment. They worked out the kinks since opening earlier this year and the service is MUCH improved. The kale Caesar was delicious

We tried this place out for early dinner with a child. It's a European-style cafe run by genuine Italians, and the ambience of the outdoor patio near the park was simply diving. Sipping drinks at an outdoor table, even Tamalpais Ave. seemed transformed into a Parisian boulevard. Unfortunately, there were NO kid options on the menu, and I mean none. I ordered the chicken sliders and had to spend 10 min scraping off avocado dip etc. to get him to eat it. I hope they will add a simple pasta or sandwich options to make the place a viable destination for families. That said, the food was delicious and extremely fresh - the bread was unbelievably good - and a bar and cafe in the neighborhood is most welcome. I hope they stay a good long while!

Great local place. Just moved to Corte Madera a few months back and love this place. They have great paninis and wine collection. Very friendly staff. It has become our new favorite place in town.

I just noticed Cafe Verde this morning after yoga class. I stopped in after class to order a latte and was so impressed with the lovely, casual layout, the outdoor seating, the ridiculously reasonable prices and most of all how helpful and friendly the staff was. Bravo, and I will definitely go back to try their lunch and dinner.

If they can get better service my ratings would go up. Our family of 4 stopped by an a Friday eve for a quick dinner. My sons timed it at over 50 minutes before our food showed up. 2 plates of sliders, 1 panini, and 1 salad. No utensils or napkin. No ordered glass of wine. The bar tender was lovely - I'd been told to just go get my own glass - and she poured me a large glass as she knew I'd been waiting. Sadly I then had to drink it really fast as my family was fed up and wanted to leave as soon as possible. My kids had asked for water right away and were told to wait - and guy forgot why they were waiting so they eventually asked again and he pointed out the self service cups (which he could have done when they first asked). I had to go up and ask for fork and knife. Never did find the napkins. The food itself was tasty and mid-range for cost. There were a couple groups there - parents with kids after baseball. If you aren't in a hurry and the weather if fine and you want to hang out on the patio (dogs were plentiful) it looks like a good place. I also think if we had sat and ordered at the bar we might have done better. Clearly the kitchen can't handle hardly any people at a time. I have also stopped by in the a.m. for a coffee drink and had a good experience with fairly prompt service and good coffee. Proprietors are nice but need much better servers (and faster cook?).
